Launched in 2012 and located at Indiana University, the Center for International Media and Law and Policy Studies focuses on studying the legal protection for media rights in Indiana, the United States and the world.

The center’s mission includes engaging in applied and theoretical research about free expression rights; educating the public about free expression issues; developing opportunities for students to work with organizations that promote media freedom; and working with other organizations to train educators how to teach about media rights.
